Common Furnace Issues!
You don’t realize how important your furnace really is until it fails, it’s something most of us take for granted until it shuts down leaving you with no heat and cold. Typically, you can avoid a random furnace malfunction by having a regular maintenance done on your HVAC equipment. But unfortunately, breakdowns do happen, and they usually happen at the worst possible times.
What are the most common furnaces issues? And how can you prevent them from happening?
- Poor Air Quality? – Change the filters in your furnace, this is super easy and simple to do but, a lot of times it gets forgotten. Be sure to change the air and furnace filters regularly.
- Furnace Has No Power? – Check your fuse box and/or your thermostat. HVAC systems have complex wiring that allows you to control the heat. If the wiring of the thermostat is faulty, or your breaker short circuits, it may cause your furnace to fail. Also, by checking your thermostats batteries to ensure they’re not dead will be very helpful as well, dead batteries can prevent your furnace from turning on.
- Furnace Is on But No Heat? – This may be due to your blower motor. The blower motor helps the furnace push heat around your home. One of the most common causes for a blower motor to fail is overheating, which can be caused by lack of care, dirty filters, or even old age.
